Did you know that the name of Petitenget Temple in Bali means “haunted container” in Behasa Indonesia?
According to an old legend, villagers built the temple to ward off dark spirits from a nearby forest that made anyone who ventured into it ill.
Since its construction, it’s been a peaceful place for both locals and tourists, and the said hunted forest no longer exists in modern Seminyak.
Despite being one of the smaller temples in Bali, this religious site boasts a distinctive architecture made of sandstone and red bricks, creating a rustic feel.
A dragon-inspired staircase winds its way up to several Balinese shrines at the top.
