Mamiche bakery

We chanced upon this bakery as our pottery classes are right around the corner.

After throwing a couple of bowls and vases, there’s nothing like some warm bread and viennoiseries to fill our empty stomachs.

On a side note, in case you don’t know, you can actually buy FRESH pizza pastry from the Mamiche bakery on certain days, which was what we did as we craved home-made pizza with our own preferred toppings.

We simply rolled out the pizza dough, put and it’s definitely worth the try.

The bakery also has a wide selection of traditionally baked breads.

For the hungry folks who just want their baked goods and pastries NOW, we recommend their Babka, whipped cream puff and roulé à la cannelle (cinnamon roll).

There are probably hundreds of versions of Babkas in Paris, but if you like the ones with the fragrant and moist centres, you got to try Mamiche’s rendition!

It’s their bestseller and we’re not surprised. Unlike other Babka versions which tend to be shaped like a crispy brioche, Mamiche’s version is sliced and you can see beautiful meanderings of chocolate within the loaf.

We lived a couple of years in the Nordics, and have been looking for authentic tasting Swedish-style cinnamon rolls.

Well, this is it! The cinnamon roll is crispy, with just the right amount of cinnamon fragrance. We literally got transported back to Sweden when we tasted them.
