A rare sight of Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur Basilica under the snow. Had great fun drawing this from a photo sent by a lucky friend who was visiting the historical neighbourhood of artists during an infrequent and beautiful episode of snow in the French capital. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now. Shouldn’t that apply to climate change and sustainability too? The Ochre trail in Roussillon, one of the most beautiful villages in France
Used since prehistoric times, Ochre is a natural clay pigment with colours ranging from yellow to deep orange or brown. The brillant hues of this natural ingredient have also contributed to the characteristic colour palette of provençal art and architecture. Located in the heart of one of the largest ochre deposits in the south of […]
Svartifoss, the black waterfall

Baroque shophouse in Singapore’s Emerald Hill
Emerald Hill is a neighbourhood and conservation area near the famous shopping area Orchard Road in Singapore. Did this quick sketch as I’m missing the vibrant colours in Singapore’s Peranakan culture, so often found in these charming shophouses.
Where to get the best Tarama and Greek salads in Paris – even Dionysus would approve!
At the busy pedestrian street Montorgueil, you’d probably not notice the unassuming Greek caterer aptly named Dionysos, the Greek god of wine, fertility and harvest. We highly recommend their marinated and vinegar-pickled octopus salad and pink tarama!
Eagle sketch – Above all
Random sketch – Eagles have always been one of my favourite animals. Noble, free-spirited, and above all the earthy possessions that don’t really matter.
